Today we went to the shoots river, we are camping next to one of the rivers that drains into the shoots we went on a hike near it. It was about a three mile hike, and it was and wasn’t fun. It was beautiful and really refreshing to go on a hike so early in the morning, but I got sun burnt.  I’ve never been burn before so I’ve learned that it’s not a situation I want to happen again. Other than that the hike was fine, lots of people were jogging. Actually there was two different marathons going on, they had closed many of the roads in order to let bicyclists and runners past. I’ve never seen a marathon in action so I was surprised by how many people were running and bicycling all together. After this Jessica brought us to her friend Joys house in the Bend, it was at this time that David had to leave us but we were all very thankful for the time he took out of his schedule to be there for us and hope to hear from him again.
After this we were then able to take showers which we are really grateful for. We were even provided towels and soap which surprised all of us but I was happy that they were so willing to help us out. Joy, her husband Rick, and their daughter Monica all cooked lunch for us, they made hamburgers and let us make ourselves at home in their home. The plan at first was to just stay for lunch but we even ended up staying for dinner, by this time Monte had come back and she took over Joy’s kitchen to cook dinner which was fajitas. Joy and Jessica have been friends for a long time so even though we all kind of just descended upon her home and were there for most of the day, she had jokingly said that even though Jessica had said only lunch she had also expected us to stay for dinner.
